Day 4 - A Clear Understanding of Heights
Wow, what a day! Everyone worked about half a day today and spent the rest exploring Chicago. Our LCC bunch went downtown and had an absolute blast! For some, it was an eye opening experience to see the very heart of Chicago. We went to the Navy Pier, the Sears Tower, rode a trolley, and ventured through the tunnels of the subway. The highlight of the night was standing inside the glass boxes that overhang the edge on the Sears Tower - we have pictures and I must say that was a VERY weird feeling knowing that the only thing holding you up was an inch & half of glass. Ooo, it was weird! But the pictures will tell the story - and we have many!
Tomorrow, we begin our push to finish up our projects and start winding down the week. I can’t believe we are just over halfway through the week - where has the time gone. Everyone’s doing great - no injuries or sicknesses - huge praise there! Just a final note for tonight…if and when you get a chance, please express thankful thoughts to Bob Repass, Bob Fitch, Chad Freeman, Allie Long, Dawn Leamon, Jennifer Slayton, and Kira Southall for serving with our students this week. I can say this, in over nine years of youth ministry prior to coming to LCC - I have never had such an awesome crew like this! They ROCK! I cannot express fully my deep appreciation for the care and love these adult sponsors have shown to the kids - IT’S AWESOME!!!! They sacrificed an entire week to be here, in Chicago, to be with our LCC students…too cool!
